If hed had a sudden heart attack whatever everyone would've been mourning the popular Oscar winning movie star. Ok it probably would've come out after (like Saville) but he never would've known about it. this way he knows that everyone knows and has to now live under a cloud, no more acting in highly prestigious movies/TV for big money (maybe he'll be 'available' for cheap awful stdvd stuff), no more invites to glamorous events/parties/oscars etc, no Shakespeare theatre stuff now, from everything major celebrity brings (respect/adulation/excitement/megabucks/restaurants/autographs/selfies) to being shunned and stony accusing looks from everyone, having to endure people whispering about him in his presence wherever he goes.. and then theres the constant tweets/social media..

and as with HW there might be others to come forward with stories about him yet

hes incredibly famous which is obviously what he worked toward his whole life same for any big star..so it'll be all the more intense (think Mel Gibson only worse)

Yup, people absolutely should be vilified and their lives destroyed on the say so of one persons hazy teenage recollection of a drunken advance.

And it always will happen. The wave of the finger is all it takes these days to light the internet pitch forks and play a dangerous game of chinese whispers. Ive seen people already claim hes as bad as saville.

Needless to say, after he dies someday, it's going to be a different story!

I think it's clear he's not as bad as Saville. The "open secret" is that Spacey is into younger guys - whether that means he likes guys in their early twenties or much younger, nobody knows - for now, anyway.

What he done was still a horrible thing to do to someone of such a young age. The age of the guy is the main problem.

I'm not exactly a Kevin Spacey fan because i don't really know him and haven't seen much of his work so i'm not going to jump to his defence. However, i think people should wait and see if he's done anything more or anything worse before comparing him to the likes of Saville.
He should still deal with the consequences of seducing a 14 year old though, there's no excuse for that.

Spacey didn't admit to anything. He said he does not remember any such incident, but if it did happen then that was horrible, and he would owe Mr. Rapp a sincere apology for his drunken behavior.

I think the incident happened ... But I also thought Spacey's statement was well crafted, from a PR point of view. It's the best version of the standard political "I do not recall" yet.

But would it have come out though? Maybe in some future book perhaps, but would it have come out like it did if he had died? Even if it did, being dead kind of dulls people desire to vilify, its no fun if you can't make a spectacle of it.

That's true - might never have come out..(unless theres worse stuff to come)

Might sound silly but I wonder if it would've been preferable to him he had died last year or month etc ok hed be dead but he wouldn't have to go through this hell (for him) now and as you say it might not have even come out then so his reputation would be intact

Assuming nothing worse than that comes out, he may eventually be ok in time. Polanski did far worse and some of these same people that complain did or would have worked with him if they could. Right now its the in thing to be outraged by behaviors people have know about for a long time. What he did was absolutely wrong, but if it stopped where Rapp said it stopped than its a terrible thing done 30 years ago that was not rape or murder..so..again this depends largely on if this is not a pattern but a moment of stupid drunkenness that happened one time. I have not read much more about it, so if more stuff is to come that will change things.

The troubling thing is that his tweet response there was something about more 'stories' out there (almost as if he saying there will be more accusations to come..)

It's probably likely that more stories will come forward about Spacey. However, people speculate about this based on the fact it is known in Hollywood that he likes "younger guys". That doesn't necessarily mean he's into guys younger than the legal age though.

It seems like in Hollywood, there's never just one story. So, the speculations may just be true. Who knows.
