His aikido looked awesome on screen and I don't care about anything else
It's popular to hate on this guy these days and the reasons are plentiful if you look for them.
I honestly don't care that he's an asshole with ego the size of the earth, that he tarnished his reputation by starring in cheap eastern european money laundering schemes, that he got fat or that aikido may not be that effective in real fight.
What I care about is that in the 80s/90s he had a screen presence that rivaled some of the greatest action stars combined with his knowledge of the beautiful art of aikido which demonstrated by him looked and still looks better than 99% of fighting you see in action movies even today.
