The most horrible guy I ever met.

I met Steven in 2007 in the uk, he was a guest of a famous British comedy show, I met him after it and asked him to sign my out for justice dvd, he looked me up and Down and said if you don't work on this show get the *beep* out of my face, I was devastated that my childhood hero could make me feel like that, I immediately threw the dvd in the road went home and traded all my seagal DVDs in.

Steven Seagal is by all accounts a nasty man. A bully, a rapist, frequent animal abuser and awfully close with dictators like Russia’s Vladimir Putin to whom he serves as some sort of unofficial bodyguard, I would say Seagal is about as close as one can get to a James Bond henchman in real life… all the while pretending to be some sort of enlightened spirit who’s friends with the Dalai Lama.

There are numerous accounts of actresses who have fallen victim to his huge greasy paws and his endless taste for debauchery. Many went along with his perverted suggestions, terrified as they were of his enormous frame and his intimidating presence, or simply out of desperation for a role.

Hollywood heftiest bully had his own show, too, “Steven Seagal: Lawman” where he served as a Sheriff. In this capacity he was close friends with Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, a similarly nasty character accused of multiple counts of police misconduct and racism against Latin Americans.

As a “lawman” Seagal was absolutely awful. There was situation in which he wanted to save dogs from an illegal fighting ring, and rather than saving any animals, ended up burning down a farm and killing hundreds of animals trapped inside.

In another occasion, he drove a tank(!) into someone’s house and killed the home owners’ dog.[1] This is how he got fired as a sheriff, by the way.

Steven Seagal is a nasty character. I’ve never really heard any positive stories about him. He’s harassed many actors and actresses. Among his most shameless ‘achievements’ is the fact that he broke the wrist of aging James Bond star Sean Connery while hired as an aikido instructor to help him prepare for a role.[2]

Maybe you got him on a bad day. That sucks though especially since you admired him so much! During my encounter with him it was obvious he wasn't in the most social mood, yet he was still polite. During the brief encounter I complimented his performance in Fire Down Below. He said "I appreciate it" then walked away

A lot of celebrities are more reserved or introverted in real life than how they appear in the movies. Also, they're just trying to go about their daily life. I wouldn't be too happy if I was out buying groceries or having a stroll at the zoo, and I was constantly being hounded by people about my job. Like, it's Sunday afternoon and I'm trying to have some time to myself! I don't want to have anything to do with work until I go back there tomorrow!
But then people like OP may have an encounter with a celebrity that wasn't this awesome experience they were hoping it would be, then they go post on message boards and blow things all out of proportion by accusing the person of all kinds of hostility when it was probably just in OP's imagination.

I liked Fire Down Below.

There are a lot of people with such stories though, including castmates, the people at Saturday Night Live (say he's the worst guest they've had), fans.

He and Gene Simmons from Kiss are probably the two celebrities that I never seem to hear anything good about.

I met Steven back in 2008, he was at an Albertson's on Town Center Drive in the posh Summerlin area of Las Vegas. Both his carts were full of frozen pizzas, burritos, and chicken patties. I was carrying a DVD of Fire Down Below and asked if he'd sign it. Without hesitation he grabbed my DVD and kicked me in the nuts, HARD. Then he unzipped his pants and urinated an oval line around my agonizing carcass that lay on the grocery store floor. To make matters worse, he tossed my DVD of Fire Down Below onto his heap of junk food and laughed at me while he headed straight for the check out line.
