Apparently it was an open secret in the ballet world that her hubby was fooling around with several ballerinas.

As you say, his recent affair was outed in the tabloids and she was branded a cuckold in front of the whole world. That's brutal for a woman like Natalie who I feel values portraying an upstanding image of herself. I like Natalie but she does have an air of snobby pretentiousness to her, not the sort of woman who'll let her husband make a mockery of her in public.



As for the point about celebs having some-what open relationships. I'm not completely sure. Some do of course but I reckon a lot of it will be willful ignorance with one party suspecting their partner is fooling around and willingly not investigating too much. A sort of "yeah he might be cheating on me but see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil." As soon as it's outed and everyone knows, it's damaging to your reputation and that's when it will have to be discussed and tackled.

When it comes to 'open relationships' I reckon a lot of it is very much one sided. For example Conor McGregor (MMA fighter) clearly cheats on his fiance (mother to his 3, soon to be 4, children). Everyone knows about it and she stays with him. Some say "maybe they have an open relationship", yeah I'm sure Conor is letting her ride the poolboys. Not happening. It's very much a I'll do as I please, you'll do what you're told, take it or leave it situation. This happens with a lot of athletes, here in the UK footballers are always cheating on their partners but almost every time the partner stays with them. It's all about the money and lifestyle they provide.

In Natalies case (being she is the bigger name/earner than her husband) I imagine it was willful ignorance to hold the family unit together and to keep up appearances. Now she's been made a fool of, it's curtains.
