Like with boxers, musicians, actors, writers ....
The more successful they become and richer they become, the worse they become. All such people make an effort when they are starting out to make some money and taste some success, perhaps their hunger for these things improve their creativity and talent, but when richer than they ever dreamed to be, that effort is gone. Boxers become ex-champions, writers churn out sequels which are formulaic, bands take longer and longer to to release another album and when they do it is nothing like their great early stuff, actors look bored and like they want to be somewhere else.
I am assuming Mike has hit that plateau. I consider the guy to be a top drawer star and the talent there blinds me, but I have not not heard anything from him since Goldmember.
I do not watch TV so perhaps this is the reason.
