In general any actor or actress you ever meet will likely let you down unless you do it at some paid meet and greet setting. Think about the reality of who an actor is? They aren't the person they portray, they are almost always a narcissist that wants to be the center of attention, why else would they ever gone out to become an actor/actress in the first place. Now I'm not sure about any narcissists that you may know but all the ones that I have known were not people I cared to be around because they were all assholes.

As a general rule its best to never meet an actor in a movie you enjoyed because they are all but guaranteed to let you down... and even if they aren't the narcissistic asshole they are very likely going to prove to be uneducated idiots.. if they were in funny movies well don't expect them to be funny they probably aren't in real life just able to remember the lines someone else wrote for them.

Not always the case. Twice I've met chauffeurs who job it was to drive actors to and from the sets here in BC Canada where we get a lot of Hollywood projects.

Both told me stories of how polite and friendly their charges were despite the fact that the chauffeur is just hired help. One of them said that Sigourney Weaver was an incredibly nice woman, genuinely interested in the people around her. Another mentioned that Kirstie Alley and John Travolta -- Guess Who's Talking -- were super friendly. Kirstie Alley even put him up at her place when a blizzard hit, making it too dangerous to drive.

I suspect a lot of actors are probably anti-social because it's probably exhausting to be "on" all the time in public. They just want some space.

And, there are some celebs -- most male -- that do strike me as genuine assholes. Denzel Washington, Robert Downey Jr, Quentin Tarantino, Ed Harris... you can see them behaving like complete divas in some interviews on youtube.

Genuinely seems like an asshole.

That's because he's a genuine asshole.

Not sure why people are saying that, there are tons of stories about him being really cool with fans in public.

I think he's a mixed bag. He's probably more charming when in doing a public event.

reply

A mixed bag - just like most people.

I grew up near where he lived (he might still have a home there). Ran into him a number of times as a teenager. He seemed nice but was under the influence a lot. He used to drink at a bar that we frequented with our fake IDs.

What's your source material for the title?

reply

He's a North Shore kid (those who know what this means will know what I mean). He was born on third base and he's gone through life thinking he hit a triple.

🤣DUMB

It's almost like you don't understand irony.

I only recently learned about his decades long fallout with Harold Ramis over Groundhog Day. That film is a masterpiece, a career highlight for both men, and I wouldn’t change a frame.

Apparently Murray was a nightmare to work with, screwed up by a failing marriage, too much success, and wanting to make the film less of a comedy. Ramis reportedly grabbed him by the collar and shoved him against a wall, telling him to ‘just act’ at one point.

It’s a miracle the film ended up being a miracle, but Murray never ‘forgave’ Ramis, only speaking to him in a personal visit shortly before Ramis’ death.

To not speak to Ramis for over twenty years, despite Ramis’ efforts to reach out, and despite their years of success working together leads to only one conclusion - Murray is a total dick.

Funnily enough, I think the best way to meet him is as a fan. I agree that Bill Murray seems like an asshole, but he does seem okay to fans up to a certain point. It's when you have a professional or deeply personal relationship with him, that's when his nasty side begins to spill over.
