Am I the only one who doesn't want him to do GB3?

To me, Bill Murray's career really took a more interesting turn during the 2000's, when he did more "serious" roles ( I'm using this term somewhat loosely, as he still is able to incorporate that Bill Murray charm), and less comedic ones that hearken back to the days of Caddyshack, Meatballs, Stripes (all classics in their own right). I just feel like Bill Murray has reached a more refined era in his career these days.

There should be no need to revive a role so stuck in the...80's. He's better than Ghostbusters now. It will seem like a step down, and maybe that is why he tried avoiding doing it for all those years.

But hey w/e...money.

He may be the coolest man on the planet chrisrobins2000. Maybe he can pull it off.

You do have a good point. It will be a tall order.

Yeah, I love his work with Wes Anderson and other more art house directors. Thing is - he did 2, not 1, but 2 Garfield's!

He also did the stunt if showing up at an awards show in the GB uniform.

He's supposed to be on Letterman this week. Not aware of any new projects, so I wonder if GB3 will come up.

Yes I am one of the people who doesn't want him to be in GB3. then again, I don't want to see a GB 3 period. there is no need! its like my sig says, an Unnecessary Sequel. all of the cast look like they are about to go to the retirement home soon, including murray, and I don't think ANYONE wants to see a buncha new recruits taking there place. they tried doing this in the 90's with extreme ghostbusters and even in a cartoon, it didn't work. we got the videogame a few years ago and that was AMAZING. that should be enough, no more GB's movies. the first 2 are classic. and you cant say that just cuz they made MIB 3 this means GB 3 should happen. will smith is not super old and TLJ was old to begin with so that's why that worked. GB 3.....no. just, no. leave it alone.

Realism, Remakes and Unnecessary Sequels are ruining movies!

The stupid thing about posts like this one is that if they don't do GB3 they will most likely end up doing a reboot or a remake.

because of Bill we will never see the original cast in the third movie and you got your wish. But I Would have rather watch the original 4 in a GB movie now than just replacing the whole cast with a new cast.

Maybe the fact that GB3 now is not possible to ever be made, that might make them just do the remake and move on.

So yeah, all of the cast look like they are about to go to the retirement home soon, right...
Lets get Ashton Kutcher, Andy Samberg, Jonah Hill and Donald Glover for a remake because that is just so much better than having a bunch of Old farts playing the roles from the first movies...
Yeah, that sounds so much better

A remake is inevitable now. the only reason GB has not been remade was because they were probably holding to GB3 trying to make it happen. But now there is no need to hold on to that.

I don't want to see a bunch of gray and old Ghostbusters so honestly Bill did us a favor and we didn't get stuck with a lame version of GB.

so after an actor passes 60 you stop watching their movies? that's sad.
I guess now I know why Hollywood stops caring once an actress gets to 50 and why they always hire young girls to play the wives of older guys (like with 20 years difference)Does that mean you don't watch any movies that Bill Murray makes now?

reply

No, What I am saying is that even if the story, the script was crappy I Would have liked to see the original Ghostbusters in the movie.

Look at Ghostbusters 2... Was that a great movie? No, was it as good as the first one, No way. Besides the good thing about getting GB3 is the story would have continued. The story from the first two would have been completed here.
Now we will most likely just get the first movie with young actors, a remake.

what's worse, Having a so so movie with a great cast OR having a so so movie with terrible actors?
If anything a lot of movies are only considered good because of the casting. Not the story, not the director, sometimes what makes a movie work is the cast alone.

A new Ghostbusters movie is coming regardless. It is inevitable. We could have had a cool movie with the original cast, But now what we will get is a crappy remake with crappy young actors.

How is that better?
