Julianne's top five performances?

Julianne is such a marvellous actress and is always a treat to watch. In which five films do you think she gives her best performances? For me it's the following.

1- The End of the Affair
2- Still Alice
3- The Hours
4- Savage Grace
5- Far From Heaven

Of yours I haven't seen Savage Grace and I thought she was dreadful in The Hours, along with most of the cast. My top five, which could look quite different tomorrow, would be:

1. The End of the Affair
2. Far from Heaven
3. Boogie Nights
4. Still Alice
5. Safe

She is also exceptional in Short Cuts (my favourite JM film); The Kids are All Right; Maps to the Stars; Don Jon; Cookie's Fortune.

Hi rudeboy. You have to see Savage Grace, Julianne is amazing in that one. It's based on a true story too. From your list I still need to see Safe.

Honestly it's hard to choose when it comes to such an amazing and talented actresse like Julianne moore, she's my favorite actresse, my personal favorites:

-still alice
-far from heaven
-boogie nights
-the hours
-the end of the affair

Honorable mentions: safe, the big lebowski, magnolia, the shipping news, a single man, the kids are alright...

Many more, she's simply amazing

Hi jado_888.

Great choices, I still need to see Safe. It's been a few years since I last watched Magnolia but I think the entire cast in that are superb.

Hi maddyclassicfilms

Thank you, you should really watch safe, magnolia is amazing

I agree with four of the first five performances you mentioned. I only disagree with still Alice. Of course, she was really good but not for an Oscar win. All of the other Oscar nominated performances are more deserving of an Oscar

Her performance in still alice was simply stunning

Rudeboy, do not see Savage Grace! It will literally make you sick to your stomach and throw up. I'm serious. I saw it for her and yes she was excellent but the film is downright disgusting.
