shareI think Alyssa transitioned into adult roles quite nicely. She never soared onto the A-list, but she made a name for herself by being a staple on Primetime television. I was too young for Who's the Boss?, and I never caught her on Melrose Place during its initial run. I did, like a lot of people, become a fan of hers when she starred on Charmed. It was then when I looked back at her prior roles. I was rather shocked to see her partake in such steamy, almost soft core-esque roles.
For some reason, Alyssa has that quality where she can do erotic scenes and could sex up her image, yet still remain likable and not come off as too raunchy. Some people have it and some don't. I'm not comparing her to Marilyn Monroe, but she too, had that thing about her where she could be a sex pot, yet still charm people. Almost got a pun in there. Britney and Christina went the sexy route. One of them, albeit the better vocalist, didn't come out of her "Dirrty" era unscathed.
And for playing a lot of sex pot roles, Alyssa has still been able to transition into more mature roles, and has yet to come off as too desperate and needy for attention. Yes, she does infomercials, but that's beside the point. Just my rambling .02
