Career possible without MTV?
With all due respect to her talents. I say no, the first artist who owes a debt of gratitude to the 'music video' revolution.
It is hard to see how she could get a following without the visual aspect.
I'd also put Duran Duran in this category, who didn't get a following until "Girls on Film" was on heavy rotation on MTV.
