If the producers had their way, she would've played Karen in Goodfellas or Ginger in Casino. They wanted Tom Cruise to play Henry Hill. That would've been an interesting pairing; Tom Cruise and Madonna. I read she lobbied hard for the part in Casino. I could've maybe seen her as Ginger. I think she could've pulled that off. But she would've been completely miscast as Karen.

Yeah, she's honestly not as bad of an actress people say she is. If anything, she knew how to act with her eyes, if not her voice.

Have you seen Dangerous Game? There’s an argument to be made that again she was playing herself (or maybe not since she was playing a professional actress 🤭) but it’s the one performance of hers that I would classify as truly great. She easily equaled Harvey Keitel’s performance in that. At the time I left the cinema with hope that it was the start of a respected acting career for her. It wasn’t to be, of course, but still, pretty great.
