I think she was the Jennifer Lawerence of her era, but the projects she tackled weren't popular (for what it's worth, I like "Streets Of Fire" and "Lady Beware"). I always thought she is a solid actress though; my personal favorite.

You're right, VladDrac_OU81, it's better to be underrated than overrated, and I doubt Diane Lane has any regets (I couldn't see her as a mermaid in "Splash" anyway, or the hooker in "Risky Business").

In terms of talent maybe but Lane has never been overpraised as Jennifer seems to be currently...sadlyShe was treated as a young rising star whereas Jennifer is treated as she was the new Bette Davis or something.I'm still heartbroken that she hasn't received an oscar nod for A LITTLE ROMANCE

shareActually she's been given a lot of good roles, and she works every year. She's well liked in the Hollywood community, and I would view her as 'A' list material. She gets a lot of respect and attention, I assure you.
