This guy must have been terrorized by bullies growing up
Almost every one of his early books involves bullies abusing kids who end up being dispatched in horrific ways.
How miserable was his life?
Yeah he grew up poor, his father left them, his mom was a single working mother, and he was heavily bullied as a kid, to the point his babysitter used to fart in his face:

Sometimes when she was so afflicted, she would throw me on the couch, drop her wool-skirted butt on my face, and let loose. “Pow!” she’d cry in high glee. It was like being buried in marshgas fireworks. I remember the dark, the sense that I was suffocating, and I remember laughing. Because, while what was happening was sort of horrible, it was also sort of funny. In many ways, Eula-Beulah prepared me for literary criticism. After having a two-hundred-pound babysitter fart on your face and yell Pow!, The Village Voice holds few terrors.”
Also King used to bully other kids.

So instead of losing it and shooting up a school, he became a hugely successful writer.
Good for him.
I guess mass shooters are merely abused kids with no talent.
