husband ruined her career, Scarlett Johanssen took her place

Sad as hell, I loved Milla so much in Fifth Element and the first Resident Evil :(

reply

Not really... She can't act...

reply

Omg on the way to work this morning I was just thinking that Milla would have been perfectly cast as Black Widow, because of her heritage and action acting ability. I love Scarlett Johansson in the role but I can't help thinking Milla would have been better.

reply

Agreed. ScarJo is overrated as an actor. She’s lucky that Milla married a tacky filmmaker whose films she exclusively stars in now.

reply

Scarlett is miles better, Milla is no where near her league.

reply

Scarlett had bigger pillows so she won.

reply

Not to mention Milla is way hotter than Scarjo anyway and has aged much better.

reply

It is a shame that she clings to her Husband and largely only works for him now.

She was hot stuff back in the early-00s but by continually working in her Husbands movies she's missing out/rejecting other opportunities. But hey if she's happy good for her.

But hey if she's happy good for her.

Pretty much this. She seems to be happily married and not care about her status in Hollywood. I'd say she's likely better off than if she'd had a better acting career.

reply

Ehh, if you watch any of the stuff she's in that wasn't directed by her husband, she really didn't stand out. And as others mentioned above, both her and ScarJo really can't act. But they're right that Milla aged WAAAAAAAAAY better than ScarJo.

If Milla was a better actress I would see the point, but much like Kate Beckinsale, she's a one-trick pony. I think she only has the career she's had in Hollywood because of her husband, not in spite of him.

YOU SOUND LIKE YOU HAVE ONLY BEEN WATCHING MEGAPLEX FLICKS...UNINFORMED.

reply

Indulge my curiosity: What films have Milla Jovovich been in where she acted her arse off? I'm curious if there's one actually worth watching

reply

THE CLAIM,THE FIFTH ELEMENT,THE MESSENGER,DUMMY,A PERFECT GETAWAY.

reply

Already seen Fifth Element (love that film), I will check out The Messenger, The Claim and A Perfect Getaway. They seem to have decent enough IMDB scores. I'll find out if she's more than just a wooden pretty face.

Thanks for the suggestions.
