Plays the same character in every movie
His performance is considered great when he is working with a good script and is considered bad when working with a bad script...by himself he is basically the same character in every movie..he doesnt bring anything new to the movie...he is playing the same character from pulp fiction but with different scripts and directors.
People miss this aspect when discussing his performances for oscar considerations. He was good in hateful eight because he gave audience the life line when this turn of crazy half way through the movie.
