Meet Joe Black

Anybody watch this movie? It doesn't really have the best reviews, but I just watched it, and thought it was really great. It's literally 3 hours long, a has a lot of slow character development. It's basically a love story when you break it down, and I thought it was great. Plus Brad Pitt was great, and that girl was hot.

It's in my top twenty movies. Yes it's long and the ending is flawed but there are many great, moving performances in it and the look of it and the music are beautiful. A real work of art 8/10.

I watched this movie with my dad and he said the same thing about the ending. I liked it however. I thought the music was really special too.

It’s really underrated, I loved the slow-quiet treatment of the storyline. It did really well when it first came out but it’s not spoken about much which is a shame. It’s a take on ‘death takes a holiday’ a 1934 film which was based on an even older Italian play where the Devil comes to mingle with man because he doesn’t understand why people hate him.
It’s a great plot for a film and i love the way that this version was done.

That's really interesting! I had no idea it was based on that older film. Very cool! I also love the slow moving story as well, it just makes you feel like you're really in the thick of this story and the world.

I enjoyed it, particularly for Hopkins' performance. I thought the premise was interesting and that makes for an interesting story. Pitt was a bit stiff, to my recollection, and I did howl with laughter at the scene where he crosses the street - I don't think that's what they were going for.

Overall, I remember liking it.

Your comment made me laugh out loud. While I didn't laugh when he crossed the street, I'm not sure I can watch it without laughing after visioning it now. Lol!
