when they said in her bio, one of Hollywood's most dazzling leading actr

esses I thought, one of Hollywood's most annoying voiced actresses. she seriously has one of the most annoying voices that I have ever heard. it's literally cringe inducing listening to her talk. you would think that after all the years she has been acting in Hollywood that she would've changed her voice so it doesn't sound so freaking annoying. I bet even Hispanic people cringe when they hear her speak because it's such a strong, grating voice. her and Penelope Cruz and Sofia Vergara, especially, have the most annoying voices I have ever heard because they have the thickest Hispanic accents on English speaking voices in Hollywood movies. it's not right.

Agree! Pretty annoying to me as well! Especially after so many years of living in an English speaking country. Also, they were relatively young when they came to Hollywood so you cant even blame it on age. I can only imagine that they think its sexy or a trademark or something. Doesnt change the fact that its annoying, though.

It is all publicity. She's forced to speak in a Mexican Spanish accent to come off as attractive. I'm sure she speaks good to perfect with an American English accent.

Salma is fluent in Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, and English.

Try moving to another country, learning a new language, and speak without an accent.

Just out of curiosity Luke is there a Hispanic immigrant actress in Hollywood who has a pleasant accent to you? It would help if you provided an example of someone else.

In case you're wondering, I'm female.

reply

The US doesn't have an official language, English is the primary one for official documents etc. that's all.

And as someone else stated, try picking up a new language without speaking with an accent.

Light travels faster than sound,
that's why people seem bright,
until you hear them.

I am German and us Germans are quite famous for having an heavy accent. I started learning English at the age of eight (in school) and after school i kept learning it and it was always very important to me to sound pleasant to a native speaker and pronounce words correctly. And i think the effort was worth it and i did a good job because it happened already a few times that many native speakers were surprised when they found out that i wasnt one.
So its all about whether you want to or not.
These hispanic actresses obviously think its sexy while to me its only repelling.

Is there a movie where she speaks with an actual American accent? Because I don't remember one.
