shareI think he was very nervous and excited and made a stupid mistake. I was once in an elevator with Jimmy Smits and his mother. His mother lived in the same apartment building as I did. I knew her and his sisters but I had never actually met him and I never thought I would. It was very late at night and I was very, very nervous being around him and said something extremely stupid that I will never repeat. Sometimes we just do stupid things. I felt very bad for Wilson being bumped into like that but I also felt bad for the guy who was probably wanting to crawl into a hole at that moment.
Actually I blame Hanks' security for what happened. They should never have let those fans so close. But, of course, all of this is just MHO.

The worst of it all was that I still saw his mother and sisters all the time. They were OK about it and never brought it up but I continued to be embarrassed around them until the day I moved out, which wasn't for about another 5 years.

shareI get what you're saying, and it's not like tom assaulted the guy. I'm sure he doesn't have his security be too big of an asshole keeping fans back, because it's a terrible look for PR. I don't think it's the end of the world, but getting your ass chewed when you screw up is how you remember to behave differently next time. I think the situation played out fine. The dude did apologize several times.
