I have two major complaints against the BBC, that actually stop me watching it:
1. The TV Licence fee
2. The wokeness / diversity and all that crap
Aside from that, I'm not bothered by it. In fact, I don't even pay my TV Licence, so I can't watch live TV, and certainly not iPlayer.
I totally agree with everything you've said above AMJF.
It's been nearly 11 years since I stopped paying my Licence fee, and they still send me bullying threatening letters, which I have been totally ignoring for nearly 11 years as well.
wtf is this commie tv license bullshit u guys are talking about?!?

DMT, the BBC TV licence fee has been around since the BBC started broadcasting television, and we the British people have to pay an annual fee of £159.50 for the privelege of watching any BBC television channels, and if you don't pay up, they send out threatening bullying letters along with enforcement officers knocking on your door, to take you to court for non-payment. People have been jailed for refusing to pay it.
How dare he have a different opinion than you, snowflake!
shareHis point of view is American.
Brits have no idea how bad ratings driven news in America can be.
Ratings driven news means focus on weather disaster releated events, over-hyping and unnecessary drama in news stories and a intense, off-putting delivery from anchors and on the spot reporters.
It also means little coverage in foreign countries, because it costs too much to send them. Original investigative reports are almost gone.
BBC (world news) is the best news source I've come across in America, all in 30 minutes.
