Is he ever going to make that Viking film?
I would love to see him direct a film about the Vikings like he did wit the Mayas in Apocalypto.
War, what is it good for?

According to Gibson its on his workload still but he has a full plate these days and is just waiting to find the time to do it.
FIVE TO ONE BABY ONE IN FIVE NO ONE HERE GETS OUT ALIVE - JIM MORRISON
It's past time that somebody made an epic but authentic movie about the Vikings. It could be filmed in Norway and England - and other northern climes/locations (before global climate change melts the North and icy scenes need to be produced by ever-crappy cgi). The entire story is long-lasting, and amazingly geographically vast - considering that the Vikings eventually traveled up rivers deep into continental Europe, and even penetrated into Russia. It wasn't all rape, pillage, wenching, and feasting. The Vikings were great traders, merchants, sailors and farmers, navigators...and they are credited with the first known parliamentary-democratic form of government in the Althing.
Any of a number of Viking eras could be selected for dramatization, e.g., the clash with Christianity both on, and off of, Viking lands. From what is now known about the Vikings, the time is ripe for a historically accurate depiction of the Norsemen and women, without anachronistic cultural misappropriation or cinematic romanticism. Maybe Gibson is the person who could get all this across to current audiences. And if he does, as a film music enthusiast, I wonder who he would choose for soundtrack composer...
