He's not "boycotted" by Hollywood because he's "Anti-China".
He was a very big movie star in 1990...but 3 decades have passed.
And there really aren't "movie stars" anymore!
There hasn't been since a decade ago or maybe two...
There all just big movie players who surface for 2, 3 or 4 years and just flame out.
At least he's still around, void of any controversy and still headlining pictures.
True, he has been in some stinkers ... quite a few, but maybe it is because he cannot get blockbuster roles because they want sales in China too?

Disney, which now owns The Simpsons, removed this probably at the direction of the CCP.
If anyone wanted to hire Gere at this point, they would do so realizing that they will lose the revenue of China in distributionn.
No-one in Hollywood stands for anything anymore. They kneel for lowlifes though. Progress.
