Just watching 'Bridget Jones The Edge Of Reason;' and it occurred to me that Firth is exactly the same in every last role he does.
What on earth is he gonna do when Hollywood runs put of roles for bumbling and clumsy English gents?
Not really a fair observation, the character is itself a carbon copy of his performance of Fitzwilliam Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, as was the authors intention at the time of writing her book.

I suspect he can do more, and would love the chance to play a disgusting low-life sociopath for a change.
But as people continue to pay him shit-tons of money to play gentlemen, he's not going to turn down that kind of easy money.
