Anybody still here?

I just want to tell everyone how much fun I had here and I love you all.

And always remember TCLTC.

IMDb is the world's top Google search result for movie, TV and celebrity content. We can make this happen by paying for it. As part of our reactionary move to appease a few butthurt users who couldn't reach the Ignore button, we have decided to blow up IMDb's message boards on February 20, 2017. This includes every possible instrument on our site with which users could connect with each other on a human level. After throwing a few suggestions around in an echo chamber and excluding the opinions of actual registered users, we have concluded that IMDb's message boards are no longer worth our effort, when we can pretend to be successful by throwing out a vastly inflated number of monthly users worldwide, many of whom just stumble onto our site through a Google search and might not have enough command of the English language to be able to take full advantage of interacting on our message boards. Did we say 250 million users? Well, the actual number of actual registered users is closer to 30% of that figure, but never mind that. And never mind that only a fraction of a call-in radio talk show's audience actually calls in, but that they still have an audience nonetheless and aren't cancelled. The decision to retire a long-standing feature was made only after figuring we can save the couple of dollars it costs to operate a message board and was based on nothing resembling compassion or understanding of human feelings. Maybe we'll buy a new executive helicopter.

Increasingly, IMDb customers have migrated to a bunch of plateauing social media outlets, which will die off one after the other soon anyways.

Because we would like to appear compassionate, consider this your two-week's eviction notice, so you can collect your belongings before we throw you out on the streets. We would like to extend a perfunctory message of regret or platitude that mimics what humans might say, like "Deepest Sympathy" or whatever.

I still pop in from time to time. For IMDB to eliminate the forums is like, if, Facebook or twitter were to remove the reply button. I think IMDB is making a huge mistake, but hey what do I know I only use the site.

Also don't forget: YSCOHB.

As my eyes mist, what memories from this board. Still remember when I wandered on here wondering why my man Tom Cruise was going so crazy and blaming Scientology. And what a wonderful mess the place was.

This was in the days where the pro-Tom folks (have no idea if they were Sea org or not in all their kicked out reincarnated handles) attacked anyone for no reason who didn't say Cruise was god....including me on many occasions. And the the anti-Co$ folks would hit me from the other side for saying things like "hey he is just an actor and not L Ron."

Lots of people wandered in and said "WTF"? For me it was like a TV show. Some interesting and smart characters (whatever happened to Jane Doe?)

Gonna miss IMDb boards.

No love for Escobar in his many different spellings?

Yeah back in the olden days when the trolls were somewhat entertaining. The quality of the trolls here fell off dramatically and that's why I didn't post much. I think I may still have a list I made of all the trolls that used to haunt this place.

Exactly -- a guy like Escobar wanted to cause trouble, but had a purpose other than simply causing trouble or at least put some logic behind his attempts to do so.

That troll list of yours would be an interesting read.
