So I take it people on this board never plan to retire themselves?

Honestly...posts asking him to come back and act in another movie are beyond stupid. Do people understand the concept of retirement and why it's commonly considered the true end goal for those who work?

Getting too old for stuff is a perfectly real and valid excuse to stop doing said stuff, but more to the point so is having enough money so that you no longer need to work any more. Connery probably fills BOTH criteria...making his retirement perfectly suitable and logical.

Hell I know if I was an actor who made...oh say a minimum of 3 million on a movies or movies I'd be long gone from anything resembling work the next day, even if I wasn't in my 80s

I agree. I just wish league of extorndary gentlemen didn't suck. But, on paper it sounded great. But, same thing happened to gene Hackman, welcome to moose port was his last film. Not fair to him.

Who cares about the very last movie, you need to look at the body of work :)

Also IIRC LXG wasn't that bad.

At least Connery went out still on the big screen. He never slid into straight to video. He had a great body of work outside of Bond which is more than can be said of some of the actors that followed him.
