shareMaybe that’s part of the reason why the fourth Scream (which came out 11 years after the last one) didn’t perform as well at the domestic box office as the previous ones. Scream I suppose, created a brand new horror sub-genre, the post-modern, deconstructive, teen slasher genre. Scream in essence is perhaps more of a ’90s franchise so to speak, that didn’t when you get right down to it, didn’t have that much of a long self-life.
