I would say her wages are way higher than deserved
Is that the equal she was referring to?

shareYup.
shareI'd say she was simply stating that wages should be equal for women regardless of what industry they are working in.
sharethis is why I don't watch the Oscars anymore
shareActually wages are unequal. One of the embarrassing revalations of the Sony e-mail hacks was that big name actresses were paid less than actors. For example, Charlise Theron was paid $10 million less than Chris Hemsworth for Snow White and the Huntsman.

and that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
And you're basing this off Hollywood wages, seriously? Male sports personalities get paid more too. Are you saying that's unfair?
Okay, what about supermodels?
Chris Hemsworth got paid more because he was a more sought after actor at the time. Even though Charlize Theron is more talented, far fewer people would have gone to see a movie just because she was in it.
Marlon Brando got paid considerably more for his tiny appearance in Superman than Christopher Reeve. That's just how Hollywood works.

No? Because last time I checked, Charlize Theron was an Oscar winner, while Chris Hemsworth is Australian Hunk/Flavor of the Month no 73.
Wasn't it his brother Liam Hemsworth in Snow White, though? Same difference, however.
