Why didn't she thank the Academy, thank Richard Linklater, thank all the cast and crew, acknowledge her fellow nominees, and thank her family.

Instead, she goes off on a rant about things she knows nothing about. Someone told her to be upset by something and she did. If she had looked into the matter she "advocates", she would have known that their is nothing there. It isn't an issue.

Exactly, this is what I thought, Arquette didn't sell any movie in the last 50 years, and the next 50 years she will not sell any as well. She was just lucky bimbo with Boyhood (and only interesting thing about the movie is, the shooting has lasted 12 years). And during these 15 minutes of fame, she had nothing to say, just about salary for women. I bet she didn't care before, it came just because of emails released by hackers. But this, especially in her business, is given by market, so basically she wants to say, that next time when she will play with DiCaprio in he movie, she wants the same salary as him according her twisted mind. I am woman, but this is almost impossible to have the same salary, if you cannot sell the movie. And Streep dtto. She is acclaimed actress and appreciated by academy, but when was her last blockbuster, staying just on her performance? Never. I don't count Into The Woods, it is not her movie.

Arquette referred to Amy Adams not getting the same salary as Cooper recalculated on percentage from revenues. But honestly even if Amy is quite good actress, she cannot be compared with Cooper and this is reflected into the wages. Let's just compare last movies of both Big Eyes vs. American Sniper. Look at the sales.

I can totally see that working. The wife, bereft, enraged by what happened to her beloved husband joins the Navy Seals and fails. Then instead of watching the story of a loyal wife avenging the death of her husband, we watch her go on a feminist tirade against the government because the requirements to become a Navy Seal are just too damn hard. Who cares those skills are meant to keep people alive when women NEED the affirmative action to do whatever they want.
