Fails hard in CSI: Cyber

I guess Patricia Arquette's character is supposed to be Sherlock now? The way she notices tiny details, the way the camera zooms and we can see the gears turning in her head, the visual style: it's all stolen directly from Sherlock. (The BBC show, not the awful American copy with Lucy Liu.)

Arquette's attempts at emoting are hilarious. All that effort, straining against years of botox and plastic surgery, her taught plasticky skin refusing to obey. Her tough voice, which she uses with her underlings, and her compassionate voice, which she uses with crime victims, are both comical. She sounds like she's been lobotomized.

And if we're going to be subjected to Arquette and Vanderbeek talking about IP addresses and geolocating, this is gonna get old fast.

I believe this is all fake and you did not watch the show nor know who Arquette even is or what she looks like. Botox and plastic surgery? You have the wrong gal.

reply

No. Wrong woman. She's had no plastic surgery or boots. Look closer she has many laugh lines by her eyes, in fact she feels very strongly against altering her appearance, she refused to have her teeth straightened, because she wanted to be herself. She's an underrated actress, who finally received recognition at the Oscars.

Countless of shows have characters that see details others don't. Your point?

reply

Her face has all the classic features of a woman desperately clinging to youth via plastic surgery. If you think people who look like here aging naturally, I can't help you.

reply

Your opinion fails hard. She does not appear to have had plastic surgery. She seems to be aging naturally and beautifully unlike most actresses today. I'm not a fan of the original CSI but she, Van Der Beek, and the rest of the crew are great.

I don't know about the botox, etc., but I find the acting on CSI: Cyber horrendous, and I'm a long-time fan of Peter MacNichol.

Hey X - call me when I give a crap about what you have to say. Perhaps, after I'm dead.
