Why wouldn't an employer simply hire only women ?

If women are as capable in all respects as men, and women are apparently willing to work for 25% less than men, why don't employers simply hire only women ? I mean, employers are in business to make money, right ?

Isn't discrimination based on gender illegal?

It just shows she is clueless and does not know the real facts, if companies and businesses could actually get away with paying women less then men then they would just hire women and reap the extra profits and give them away in bonuses for upper management.

Only if you discriminate against women. Courts and judges allow you to discriminate against men. Look at Hooters, they are allowed to only hire female waitresses. Or, insurance companies, who are allowed to charge men more than women.

...good luck with that if the discrimination is against men and not women.

Discrimination against men is not real' or genuine', in the eyes of many women and feminists, so it wouldn't even rate or exist to them. That is why many men just have to suck it up, as women are getting the free ride here, to be seen as put upon and honest 'victims' in society. There is no 'unreasonable' inequality for women in western society anymore and they need to stop complaining about their lack of entitlements. If they can't do what some men do, or don't have the skills or physical stamina or strength, that's just the way it is. Women can do many things better, than men. Men just don't tend to concern themselves about it or grumble about it as much. All I can put it down to, is 'envy', that they were not born men and it has nothing to do, with equality and rights.

Different situation in third world and Islamic countries for women. I don't think Arquette was referring to them, as she is too self-serving and selfish and wants a bigger pay packet, as she is now at the top of her game, due to her Oscar®. Blah!

Thanks. You're the only person on this thread who understood the point I was making.
