Anybody any idea when Chris Carter, Gillian & David Duchovny will announce their offical comittment to Season 11 of The X Files and how many episodes are planned and for when work begin's on the next series ?

Elsewhere (The X-Files board) you sound awfully sure about behind-the-scenes activities around season 11, so why don't you ask Chris and come back here to give us the answer? ;)
If I were to speculate, based on Gillian's awfully busy schedule and other realistic considerations (such as booking some of the old crew, e.g., Rob Bowman), the shooting won't start earlier than summer 2017. Which would give Carter enough time to come up with a well planned season arc. If he has it in him. 8-10 would be a doable number of episodes, according to Patrick Munn from tvwise.co.uk. I sure hope this time the actors will be able to read the scripts before committing.

Actors are not committing to say even to a fan in response to a season 11 although they all concerned remain optimistic & interested to do so how ever regardless Chris Carter is actually working on writing a story-arc and hopes of a full season.
Obviously a half season is now like 13 to less and full was used to be a 24-26 episodes.
Scripts are being worked on, location and ect is beginning already in earnest which counts for pre-production, Chris Carter want's to use Canada again.
For the cynical pessimist's out there I say, wait just you wait I'll wager everybody 50 cents each this happens. Production of filming will commence next summer or fall 2017.
Airdates don't know any more depends on the show its order for and post-production VFX ect so if not airing by fall will premiere by early 2018 most likely January as was before with season 10.
