People liked it back in the day. I wasn't around back then and neither were you. The difference being that I respect how people felt about this song.

It was meant to be seen and heard in the context of a lighthearted romantic comedy, to advance the plot. In that it succeeded.

i love elvis but i hated his movie era.

When he was drafted into the Army and then went to Hollywood he lost his edge. Sadly it was also when his drug addiction began. The Sun Records Elvis was the best Elvis.
