Because she was reported to have died in the early hours of Sunday, August 5th. And that's when the news was announced. In fact, she passed on Saturday night, Aug 4th, likely before 9:30 PM.
Either day is correct, really.
No it isn't, she died on the 4th.
shareThe 4th is probably more correct... but it was in the papers on the 5th and the autopsy coroner couldn't nail down the exact time because Peter Lawford and Marilyn's doctor Ralph Greenson didn't call in the report till after midnight.
Ostensibly because they needed time to clean the room of anything connecting Marilyn to the President. So they falsified statements by reporting the death later in the night.
At least that is my opinion.
Lawford's wife said she caught Peter burning a cardboard box of papers and books a week later at the family residence.
And there were other mysterious things reported such as an ambulance driver who reported transporting a still comatose Marilyn nearly to the hospital but then being paid off to drive her back to the house once she actually died.
Eunice Murry the house keeper at first stated she called Peter Lawford early in the evening and then recanting that it was after midnight when she called.
Or was it later she said that when even she couldn't remember the truth. (hard to remember the truth when there are so many lies flying around.)
More likely it was a cover up of an accidental suicide to clean up evidence and in the middle poor Marilyn was denied the help she required.
At least that is the result of my research and personal opinion.
That's what I think happen as well. She accidentally overdosed and the idiots around her who could have helped her just dropped the ball and tried to cover it up.
