People who say MM can't act are idiots

I just watched Ladies of the Chorus. Great movie, great performance.
Haters and critics, take a seat. Enjoy your lack of intelligence while you can.

I adore MM, but nobody is an "idiot" if they don't care for her acting, or her looks, for that matter.

However, good to know that "Ladies of the Chorus" is being seen and appreciated. That film, "Clash by Night" and "Don't Bother to Knock" display the roads not taken by Marilyn or her handlers/studio/advisors. She created a fantastic character, "Marilyn Monroe." It made her a legend in her lifetime and a myth after death. It also trapped her, but what happiness or sense of security she had in life, came from that character. In the beginning, anyway.

___She is far more appreciated now than when alive. People knew even then she was talented, but few were willing to give an inch in showing appreciation. She was already a mega monster, so few were willing to add to her already over exposed image. That is partly why she is still so horribly missed, because we failed her when she was with us. Big lesson for humanity. Today, people don't just love her for her incredible once in. A lifeime looks and personality, they also love her performances and how she grew as a performer.
___I'm talking in depth fans here, not the clueless girl on the street wearing her face, and hoping Marilyn's magic somehow rubs off on them. Hello everyone, see I'm the sexiest woman ever! While I'm glad Marilyn's magic goes on, but somehow this is a little twisted, probably not a healthy self image as these girls should be themselves.

I think that she really wasn't that great in "The Misfits", but she was a luminous, completely unique comedic talent.

There was very little that was average about MM. Why don't you be honest and admit that you just don't like her?

actress of average talent That's not Marilyn. That sounds more like Joan Crawford or Katharine Hepburn.

I was never super impressed by KH.

I don't know why and how so many people are.

Marilyn Monroe really really can't act. She was an amateur from day one til her last film. Just watching her attempts at acting in "Something's Got To Give" is painful and that was her last film. Knowing how to ignore the camera, and acting aren't the same things.
