why do they move to switzerland?

So, it occurred to me that Audrey Hepburn and Capucine retired in Switzerland, and Sophia Loren lives there too. I don't think any of these people were married to Swiss citizens and I looked that the application to reside in Switzerland and it wasn't very simplistic. Apparently other celebrities live there as well. But I am more interested in why these old Hollywood glamour film stars all want to live in Switzerland. No liter? Polite standards? Because it's like being in a bubble? Maybe there are some sort of special harassment laws in Switzerland.

Why? because the country is clean and beautiful and they CAN.
when most people are old and living in ill-equipped nursing homes or in the back rooms of a family members house. they have so much money they can live surrounded by lakes, mountains and other natural beauty.

Singers Shania Twain and Tina Turner live there too.

what is so great about THE USA anymore? if I had millions I would live there too.

well my cousin moved there and she is very sheltered. I know it's clean and very nice but I was sort of leaning towards, people like that would prefer to be within their own bubble.

Classics__guy "you nailed it". Can't think of a better place to retire than Switzerland, a beautiful country replete with idyllic vistas of mountains, lakes, streams and magnificent scenery. Much preferred than living in a depressing nursing home, assisted-living facility or someone's backroom in a house in the USA. Kudos to the former greats in film electing to live out their days in such a country, for if I had the wherewithal that's where I'd finish.

So why not Canada?! Or Sweden?! Or Norway?! Or Denmark?! Or The Adirondacks?! Or Montana?! Washington State?! The Sierras?! And by their own bubble, I guess you mean $$$Money$$$?
