did he ever request to not lose a fight in any of his films?

When you look at the four and a 1/2 half martial arts films he did over the course of his lifetime, it quickly becomes clear that Bruce never really dealt with much of a challenge in any of them, at least not physically. He got a few cuts and bruises here and there, but never did he lose a fight or truly get his ass kicked the way Jackie or Sammo did in some of their films.

This isn't a complaint, but I'm curious as to whether it was something he personally requested to the filmmakers to secure his reputation (ala The Rock/Steven Seagal), or was it just that they found it hard to believe that any of the guys Bruce fought onscreen could convincingly best him?

My guess is on the latter. From what I've read about Bruce, he didn't strike me as arrogant enough to make such an egotistical demand on his films. Does anyone know, though?

Technically, his posthumous stand-in lost the car park fight and the dressing room fight in the Clouse-directed version of Game of Death.

The only person who could kill Bruce Lee on screen was Bruce Lee. 😆

Unfortunately, with the discovery of the "drug letters" that came out a few years back, this seems to be the case.

True.

Bruce took a a few good shots from Chuck Norris in "Way of the Dragon", but ultimately beats the sh*&^%$t out of him.
