Sweet Smell of Success
Burt Lancaster is so believably menacing in this movie that for a long time, it colored my view of him in every other movie. He was a great actor in everything but he did evil particularly well. That poor sister!
shareI only saw SSOS once, and I thought it was a very interesting movie. Didn't like seeing BL in a not-flattering role, but that makes it all that much more interesting.
I really like Burt. He had all the ingredients, manly charm and charisma, great looking guy, wonderful way of speaking that was unique. A real star without seeming like he was full of himself, and took on a lot of roles requiring a lot of "heavy lifting", i.e., he had to carry the film. And he did it well.
