Sunset Blvd/Stalag 17/River Kwai trifecta

These were 3 great films Bill Holden starred in. The guy was awesome in at least these three films. Give the man some props !

Grand citation, snept.

He had that great admonition in "The Wild Bunch"---

[[[Pike Bishop: We're not gonna get rid of anybody! We're gonna stick together, just like it used to be! When you side with a man, you stay with him! And if you can't do that, you're like some animal, you're finished! *We're* finished! All of us!]]]

I'm DVR'ing "Kwai" right now even though I have it on DVD.

They've had Stephanie Powers on TCM for a week. She doesn't give much away. I can't blame her though.

He was great in "Breezy" with Kay Lenz.

& excellent in Omen II. & "The Country Girl."

Definitely props!!!

The World of Suzie Wong ... movie gave me an oriental fetish from a young age! ;-)

Yeah, and Breezy was good, or I remember it being good, but I cannot even recall it now.

reply

I've only seen Sunset Boulevard, he was a great actor and very handsome.

reply

He had confidence, like he was the smartest guy in the room. A wry sense of humor, and willing to do what was needed despite the odds. He had a lot of charisma, while remaining an Everyman.

reply

didn't get the confidence vibe, quite the opposite.

reply

Most actors don't like to die in their films. As big a star as he was it didin't seem to bother Holden.

reply

Picnic was good, too.
