More apt for Superman and Indys dad

Strange you never hear he was considered/on the short list for those roles , I presume he mustve been at least considered ..

Superman/Jor El: he had a taller more 'superman' physique than Brando closer to 6ft 4 Reeve, had played iconic biblical figures in many biblical epics that were apt for the vaguely biblical themed Superman film , had starred in the Salkinds Musketeers films (maybe the issue with the Salkinds doing two movies but attempting to pay the actors for one vetoed his potential involvement in Superman?)

Last Crusade/Henry Jones: 7y older than Connery (who was only 12years older than Ford), iconic american actor (not scottish), had been one of the main inspirations for Indiana Jones (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_of_the_Incas#Influence_on_Raiders_of_the_Lost_Ark)

I guess Brando and Connery were more 'hot' at the time being in recent hugely successful movies/oscars (and the gravitas of Brando being considered the greatest actor of all time). whereas Heston hadnt had a hit movie in a while (especially by the time of Last Crusade)
