shareFrom those I’ve seen I’d place The Snake Pit on top for performance. Like most early films about mental health it has inevitably dated, but her performance remains bracing and, I dare say, quite brave for the time it was made. She keeps the movie watchable whereas others On similar themes - even the likes of The Three Faces of Eve or David & Lisa, released later - are harder to take seriously these days.
