Your thoughts on this Joker portrayal?

LOL at that moustache. I give it 6.5/10.

I enjoyed Romero’s performance but I prefer Phoenix or Ledger. Romero was way too campy but he was pretty fun.

reply

LOL at your thoughts. Nicholson, Ledger and Phoenix had some big clown shoes to fill.

reply

Nicholson can pull off any role. But nah, Ledger and Phoenix were miscast. Pretty boys can play the Joker. Typical Hollywood bullshit in the 21st century.

reply

What about Cesar's portrayal? I think it worked okay for the time period in mid 1960s. Campy, fun and not too serious.

Thr mustache is awful though. But I've learned the actor who played the role refused to shave it off so they painted it over instead. 🤣

I prefer Batman as camp. I'm not a fan of the Batman movie franchises.

reply

His sidekick "Robin" 🤣

Robin is how all the gay rumors about Batman got started. But I'd do Robin too.

reply

I don’t think we’ve ever disagreed more strongly.

Ledger brought a certain violent mania to the role and Joaquin was terrifically unhinged.

Both were great showings, c’mon man.

reply

My disagreement with you is because I don't like Batman portrayed as a sinister crime drama.

reply

NO actual disagreement bud, I was simply joking, I joke with people I like.

But seriously, aside from that goofy and fun 60s Adam West show Batman has always been a pretty dark vigilante.

reply

Oh, no offense taken. I just liked the 60's sitcom more than the movies.

reply

I appreciated the silly campiness as well🤓

reply

Perfect for that setting.

reply

It's good.

I like it. What Cesar did was appropriate for the program - funny, campy - he didn't take it seriously.

Just to get it out, no offense to Cesar, Heath, Joaquin or Jared....

I still think Jack was the best Joker.

reply

Agreed. There is room for "campy, fun" joker and the serious, dark joker. I think Cesar played it well.

Amen, brother. Same page.

reply

Classic Cesar Romero

reply

The moustache is horrible, but his performance was funny camp.

reply

I think its great. There's room for a funny Batman and a serious Batman.

reply

I can agree with that. The 60s Joker does come off as "campy". It works.
