ESPN owns the SEC network

and 5 of the top 7 teams in the rankings are from the SEC. Coincidence? I think not, but I have a feeling that "March Madness" will cool their heels a bit.

ESPN doesn't control AP voting,

and it definitely doesn't control computer rankings like KenPom

It controls what teams get seen on their many TV channels. The computer rankings are made by men who watch tv.

The other teams are also televised, by FOX and others.

"TV viewing" is not part of the data the computers use.
