NY archbishop

I saw the NY archbishop at the inauguration but he didn't look anything like the one on Blue Bloods

reply

Why the hell would a cop show need a Catholic Archbishop as a recurring character? I didn't know the Vatican was involved in law enforcement.

Haha. Spot on.

People should laugh at the funny parts only not randomly.

Oh and blue bloods dies have an archbishop

Monty Python is a thinking man's comedy.

Oh, I've seen Blue Bloods before, though it's been a while. I remember they're a family of Catholic cops. I believe there's an Archbishop, just not sure how they work it in.

reply

Not only catholic but Irish. Wish they had not chosen the last name Reagan. Not saying good or bad. Just if you have a famous last name they might confuse you. Same with like Eisenhower or Roosevelt

reply

Lame that they chose the surname Reagan for Tom Selleck and his family. I mean c'mon, it was obviously an attempt to summon Ronald Reagan. As if.

Religion and politics have always worked hand in hand, despite the strict separation of church and state in the constitution.
Not sure if you have the same saying in the US, but in Europe we have a saying about an unwritten agreement between religion and politics that goes "You keep them poor, I keep them dumb".
Not a miracle if religious numbnuts flock around the leader of a party that deeply subscribes to religion.

reply

There is a saying "separation of church and state" which actually is not in the Constitution.

reply

What is in it is something like

"Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion nor preventing the free exercise thereof".
