is screambox currently better than shudder?

I'm curious because I signed up for a year long shudder subscription 4 months ago, and i wound up really hating it. The one redeeming factor is they have a bunch of giallo films, which tend to be good albeit campy compared to modern movies. Shudder has a bunch of bad modern day indie flicks: the kind where you watch them and you get the impression that the creators were mostly going for startup recognition, and don't really care about how entertaining, interesting, and fun the movies are. The podcasts and documentaries are altogether pretty bad too, and there's not much content to choose from.

What's even worse than this is that they give you the privilege to write reviews, but they are moderated by artificial intelligence, and you don't get the slightest hint of why your reviews get deleted. I think they also have some computer/network issues they haven't worked out. As a personal habit, I try to phrase all my criticism in a constructive way without resorting to insults, but man, the review system on shudder is really insulting.

They are a cheap streaming service, so i'm not terribly surprised. People talk about how movie creators don't want to traumatize their audience, but I would have rather been traumatized by movies on there than have dealt with this experience.

Do you think i would have better luck with screambox when my shudder subscription is up? I hear tubi isn't bad for ad-based free streaming service, but without ads is always better IMO. Pluto tv isn't so bad either.

not heard of screambox. Is it subscription like shudder?
I've had Shudder a few years now but I don't think it's great either. They dont add new films often enough and they have some really odd/boring films that were probably cheap for them to purchase.

It's a shame, because I really liked it at first.

yeah it's a cheap horror streaming service with independent films, given the obvious similarities to shudder, it's probably a bad idea to start a subscription.

I was looking at Screambox the other day, and I would say Shudder is better. That might improve in time.

There's one way to know for sure though, i think i'm currently just going to stick with only services you don't pay for. Maybe next september i'll try Ovid, which is also a streaming service for lesser known films.
