This is my first Thanksgiving alone...anyone else here like me?
It sucks so much.
But it was what it is.
There has to be someone out there.
I picked up a Perkins dinner and stuck in the fridge.

I'm alone and just worked all night, so I have a frozen pizza I might pop in the oven unless there's a restaurant or buffet open. I had Thanksgiving Dinner last Sunday with my sister, brother and Carol, my Dad's wife who we keep in touch since he passed away 11 years ago
shareGlad you a least got to connect with family beforehand. And it’s good you keep your dad’s widow in mind. Holiday loneliness for our seniors can be a terrible thing.
shareI like to be alone, I’m hosting 19 people this afternoon and it’s all a big bunch of work.
Maybe you could marathon a cool TV show like Breaking Bad, Ozark, Yellowstone, Sons Of Anarchy or something similar. Crack open a big bottle of your favorite booze and relax. Whatever you do just enjoy your day, maybe call a couple friends or some family.
If you lived close by you’d be welcome here buddy👍
I'm about to watch Denzel in "MAN ON FIRE" on Blu Ray
shareI'm sorry to hear that. Maybe you can find some good holiday movies to watch while you eat your dinner to get that sense of tradition.
shareWell, at least your friends from MovieChat can check in to say hello and Happy Thanksgiving. How’d it come to pass that that you’re in this first time predicament? Hopefully it will be a first and last and you have good social plans for Christmastime.
shareYou got us. Small consolation but it's better than nothing.
Might I suggest a movie - From Time To Time from 2009:
https://tubitv.com/movies/100020231/from-time-to-time
It's a ghost story set in 1944 England and it's basically Downton Abbey with ghosts but it's pleasant.
I feel you, this Christmas will be the first I’ve ever spent without family / my partner. I’m looking into volunteering somewhere because the thought of spending the day alone is too depressing.
I will be catching up with a friend who is also away from family for dinner though. Hopefully you have someone you can at least call on Thanksgiving. If not pop back in here, as you see from the above comments there are plenty of people here who care and will be here to chat 🙂
I've been having Thanksgiving alone for the last 20 years (counting having it solo at a restaurant as alone, and there have been several times alone at home). It's not so bad.
