Have you ever posed as a different gender online? What were your experiences?

I play as woman characters in things like online games and virtual worlds. I think it's nice to try a new identity and experience life from a different angle, but I get hit on (or get sent unwanted private messages) a lot....

Sometimes I would tuck my penis behind my legs and pretend I was a shieldmaiden. Although lately I haven't had to do that.

reply

So you're telling us it's small enough to tuck?

Sorry but you walked into that.

reply

It's missing. Have you seen it?

reply

I think she found it:

Too small

Cool!

On chat lines back in the 90s, my friend and I would use the school computers and would change our name to things like bigbust69 and we'd get so many messages from dudes within seconds.

reply

Haha...I could see that!

Melt-on is posing as a straight fellow right now - does that count ?

reply

I'll let it count this time!

reply

No. I’m clearly a large dude, I can’t fake it and even this sexy flower dress aint fooling anybody.

reply

Haha!

I took over my wife’s Pokémon Go account. Although our avatar is female, I added my name, so people realise that it’s a joint account.

There’s no messaging available, so I’ve encountered no issues.

reply

No, I have not. I always make it clear from the very beginning that I am a man.

reply

People often seem to think I'm a dude based on my name. I don't always feel like correcting them.

reply

Yes, back the good old IRC days, I sometimes used a girl nickname to get things done, like having people send me songs or do other type of work. Google wasn't a thing yet and searching online for piracy would many times land you in "warez" territory
