Gladiator 2 Misses the Mark, Except for This One Gem

Gladiator 2 aims to continue the legacy of its groundbreaking predecessor, but it struggles to capture the narrative brilliance that made the original a classic. Where the first film balanced revenge, honor, and betrayal with emotional depth, the sequel feels disjointed and predictable. The lack of compelling character arcs and the absence of dramatic tension leave viewers longing for the storytelling finesse of Gladiator.

I'm going to go see it - I expect lots of gore and violence - hope it has a decent story.

I was not really enamored of the original, it was a cliched revenge script (which is fine) but I didn’t care for the muddy colors plus the film speed and lighting. The first battle was shot poorly imo.

I’ll see part two because I really like Pascal and Washington but I’ll wait for streaming.

I didn't care for the original. I'm skipping part 2.
