What did you zombies watch this week? (10/13-10/19)
My week:
Hundreds of beavers (2022 Tubi): I will just assume that I’m the one to blame because everyone else seem to love this but me. I can’t say I even liked it. You know sometimes, at the beginning of a movie, there will be an animation clip of a few minutes with slapstick humour to sort of indicate what the movie will be about? Well, I was wondering when the movie would start until I realized that th there was nothing more to it. 1h40mins of silly, childish and ludicrous slapstick humour. 35 minutes in I already had enough i’m started working on my computer while it played in the background. If this was released in 1926, I’d understand the attraction and appeal but at this point, I don’t understand the use for this kind of movie. But then again, it’s not my kind of entertainment to start with and I’m in the minority so don’t take my word for it. I’m giving it three points for the original look. My rating: 3/10
Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell (1995 Tubi): Movie breakdown!
Title: 9/10
Movie poster: 8/10
Acting: 6/10
Gore: 6/10
Music: 5/10
Settings: 4/10
Story: 4/10
Cinematography: 2/10
Sound effects: 2/10
Overall entertainment value: 6/10 Yep
See no evil (2006 Tubi): I know I’ve seen this before but did not remember shit about it. Now here’s the deal, the first 30 minutes takes its time installing a story that is very average but not bad and presenting unlikable characters we will never care or root for but just makes us curious as to how they will be killed off. Then comes the first kill which is a bit underwhelming. Then a 2nd and a 3rd one, which show some improvement but still not great. The final kills were definitely nastier and offered some gore. Cool… Suffice it to say, it wasn’t a total waste of time but it’s lacking so much in all departments that I was kind of done with it before it was even over. My rating: 5/10
Lady in white (Friday night special): This instantly became one of my favourite movies. It brought up a lot of emotions in me. It was comforting and distressing, joyful and sad and filled with wonderful imageries. It tackled a dozen of topics at the same time and managed to cover them all very well. I want to see it again and again and again. My rating: 9/10
Woman in black (Friday late night special): That was one of the worst movie I’ve ever seen. It was boring, drab, and painful to watch. I never wanna see it again and just wanna forget about it. My rating: 3/10
Shaun of the dead (Saturday night special): although I still enjoyed it very much, I unfortunately have to bring my rating down a tiny bit. Not as funny or violent as I remembered it. New rating: 7.5/10
Afflicted (Saturday late night special): One of the best found footage film I’ve never seen. A week ago I didn’t even know it existed and I went into it pretty much blindly. It has a lot going on for it; the actors, the special effects, the horror aspect and the gore.. all excellent and memorable. I would definitely watch it again. My rating: 8/10
