Question for Andy
Have you been to Japan? I want to plan a trip for late spring 2026 and have questions.
shareHave you been to Japan? I want to plan a trip for late spring 2026 and have questions.
shareYes, we last went in December 2007 and it is one of our favourite destinations. Please feel free to ask me anything you like 🥰
shareGreat - getting ready to book a 10 night cruise. I will be traveling solo on this one.
shareNo worries sweetie, whatever I can do to help 😘
shareIs it easy to navigate the airport if you can't read Japanese? Are any signs in English?
shareYes, all the signs that I needed to read were in English. The airport was no problem; same goes for the underground and the trains. Also, a lot of people speak English and are incredibly helpful and polite.
shareIf there are Asian babes, he's definitely been there.
shareNaturally.
shareYou should go to Vancouver. I keep hearing about the crazy amount of Asians there.
shareI have it on good authority that Toronto has the largest Asian population outside of Asia.
shareI've been to both places and to me I get more of an Asian vibe in Vancouver, not sure why - they also have spectacular cherry trees. One year I was there at the tail end of the season and they were still beautiful.
shareWhich part of Japan are you visiting?
shareI'm looking at two different itineraries, but all ports are primarily along the east and southern coasts - not going up north. Both cruises go to Korea for 1 day. One itinerary goes to Nagasaki and Hiroshima - not sure if I want to do both of those.
I looked at some land tours, realizing they are more immersive into the culture, but I've done those in Europe and there is always free time and some evenings on your own which were great when I traveled with my husband, but just don't want to do that by myself in Japan.
The Hiroshima Peace Park is an absolute must - both harrowing and fascinating.
shareO genki desu ka 102000 san? I am also planning a trip to 🇯🇵 next year or in 2026.
shareLOl - I will have to look that a up. I see it means, "how are you?"
I always try to learn words and phrases when I travel - not there yet.
I am learning a little bit. About two months ago I was in a Japanese food store. I said a couple of things in Japanese and they understood me what it was very gratifying.
My current plan is to stay in Tokyo , I am not sure yet in which district, and from there visit cities like Kyoto.
