Karelian pie
Have you ever tried karelian pie?
It's a traditional Finnish pastry. It's made from rye dough that's stuffed with rice porridge. Simple but absolutely delicious.

Hmmm. Karelia is the part of Finland which is owned by Russia. I wonder why Finland isn't trying to get it back?
shareRussia doesn't own it. Fuck those guys. I was talking about the pies anyway, have you tried them?
shareI realize that, but it gives some background if folks know about Karelia as a country.
Karelia is definitely part of Russia now. The last war between Russia and Finland ended in 1940.

Yeah, I'd love to try them. But in my entire life I have never seen a Finnish bakery where I could buy them.🤣
These look more like cream pies than the actual cream pies.

Lol, I know. There's a reason why Karelian pie is used as nickname in Finland for you know what.
shareSounds interesting but I’d like some chopped up Fennel sausage stuffed in that thing
shareI thought it was something that Captain Kirk was into.
My bad.
