This has been a bad year for films

2024 has been a bad year for movies (so far.) I have no 10/10 movies this year and only four 9/10 films. I rated 21 films a 5/10 or less this year. Last year was better.

This is probably the year with the fewest films I've seen in maybe 25 years. Not much has appealed to me.

I’ve only seen 6 (I’m always behind)

I used to range between 80-120 a year, but the last few years I've barely been hitting 30. I do watch a lot from 1920-1999 a lot though.

reply

I have seen 95 films from this year.

reply

I’m so far behind.

As long as you have seen the newest Asian Babes film, that is what matters.

reply

Probably just the first 5 minutes.

I have only seen three movies from this year:
The Beekeeper (2024) - 6/10
Snack Shack (2024) - 7.5/10
Civil War (2024) - 6/10

Modern movies suck. Everything is filled with forced diversity and I'm sick of it. There really isn't that much to watch for me these days.
I just saw that Wolfs (2024) is now available for download. It's a new movie with Clooney and Pitt. It looks promising.

Agree.

So far Longlegs is the best movie I've seen this year.

Only sixteen under my belt so far, with exactly half at 7/10+, and the other eight at 6/10 and below. Favorites being Pamyo AKA Exhuma and Billy & Molly: An Otter Love Story. A whole three trips to the theater, thankfully all enjoyable at 7/10: The Substance, Romulus and Longlegs.
